At Sea
We set the phone to ring at 6.45
but it didn’t – we were awake anyway and caught the stretch and abs classes,
which were both very good. Quick brekky then back on the machines for a while
before the first progressive trivia. An enterprising American lady recruited us
for a made up team.
It was different – we did a general
knowledge quiz and a national flags quiz on separate sheets at the same time,
alternating questions. And the questions had different values – some were worth
2 or 3 points and one was worth 5 – what is it illegal to do in an apartment
block in Switzerland after 10pm? One team did get that but we got everything
else, with a good spread of answers from all round the table. She took all the
papers without announcing scores.
J stayed on for the lecture by a
former Mountie while I finished at the gym. Later there was a strange mix-up
reversal when I ended up looking for whales while J was in the gym – go figure.
From what we saw of the Inside Passage there was nothing much to it – but we
will have another crack at it next week. Pretty much like the cruise out of
Stockholm – narrow channels between low-lying islands.
The Americans were there for dinner
– boy can they talk! It was formal night and we dropped in at the captain’s
cocktails for one drink then shot off to the music colours quiz. There were a
number of new songs but we got most of them and won. A couple walked in while
we were checking the answers and they sat with us and got a prize too!
Straight to the Piano Man
production show, which was quite good. By the way, don’t flush a loo after 10
in Switzerland.
