Monday 13th OMG Tragedy
at sea!
We slept through morning
trivia!!!!!!!
I blame it on losing that hour’s
sleep last night in the time change (with another one scheduled to go
tomorrow). That and the lack of natural light. When you keep busy, there isn’t
a lot of benefit in having a balcony but it certainly makes drying laundry much
easier and you know when the sun rises (unless you are in the Arctic in which
case it never sets). Our air conditioning is a bit noisy and we had the tv
going all night and we just didn’t wake until Katut (yes another Balinese cabin
steward) banged on our door and came in at 9.30.
Which is when trivia started –
WITHOUT US!
Oooh and I was sort of daydreaming
about who was going to play me in my movie. Should I write the book first or
just go straight to the screenplay? All I have is the title . . Whistleblower. Robert Redford would have been good – pity he
has aged so much L
So that has left our day all
discombobulated. The breakfast buffet was hugely busy but we had a very nice
feed out on the terrace at the back. Then it was line dancing time. It still is
. . . you didn’t think I was going to do it did you? But J is out there doing a
great job with Richard the girly little Thai Cruise Director.
Today is a sea day, which we always
enjoy. Ooooh and the answers you have been waiting for from last night’s trivia
– Evanda Hollyfield, Whoopie Goldberg and Michael Keaton. (I just had to ask
her to remind me because I had written Goldie Hawn and Kevin Spacey).
And it is something of an
anniversary for us – double anniversary even. Tomorrow will be a month since we
resumed our holiday and a year since we started our Gap Year. We set off
cruising nto Indonesia with Warren on 14th August 2011, came back
after 17 days and spent the next 12 days getting ready for The Big One, heading
off again on 14th September, which is when this blog started.
We finished second in the very full
afternoon trivia, partnered by a couple from California. We tried the movie
music trivia later on as a couple and finished close behind the winning team of
6. Its all good fun anyway. The captain threw two cocktail parties today,
during which we scored a combined total of two drinks between the two of us. We
are getting just a teensy bit jaded with these prize draws because they all
come at a cost of sitting through sales presentations for nested Russian dolls,
Columbian emeralds, Baltic amber and other stuff that we really don’t want or
need.
The culinary highlight was the
dessert of Kahlua tiramisu – strong coffee flavour and feather light. I/we had
two. I felt I had qualified by spending almost 2 hours in the gym. We have
booked a wake up call for 6.45 tomorrow and we are going to sleep with the
bridge camera on, so it will get light when the sun rises. Yeah.
Bedtime buddy
