Friday 3rd At Sea
Just wondering how much of the $50
million we won last night? Maybe the Lotteries Commission will email us? The
last day of the cruise and we start wondering how we are going to sit at dinner
with two waiters who may be waiting for us to hand them bundles of cash
afterwards. Worse, they may have another table behind the partition but we are
the only guests at the table for 10 so they won’t be getting much this trip.
We haven’t done much except attend
the detox seminar at the spa. As expected, it was essentially a sales pitch for
their magic algae product, which you can either eat or bathe in. This protects
you against all known diseases and guarantees you a slinky shapely build. We
will bear it in mind and make enquiries when we get home. The basic premise that unwanted weight in
problem areas is actually toxic water which the body retains to dilute toxins
sounds plausible but we suspect there might be cheaper and simpler detox
substances.
J went to have another look at the
Ice Show. Brilliant. I have never seen an ice show and this has
world class performers who do a wonderful job.
Great costumes, dancing and so much fun.
This afternoon they threw a private
quiz for past cruise guests. Hannah didn’t turn up (was last seen tanned pink
and lying on the floor in a passage – apparently making a movie???) so we
joined a Canadian family and won Royal Carribean umbrellas. Correction – she
wasnt tanned . . just sporting the aftermath of her winning effort in the
(mens’) bellyflop contest.
We decided that we could make an
exception and handed out largesse to the waiters. We also tried to refer Unar
for a special commendation but RC don’t have that system. We gave them
excellent in the satisfaction survey and commended them to the head waiter.
Tonight was 70s night. We scored
significantly more than everyone else in the 70s music trivia (except the mob
that scored 38/40) and there was a 70s focus in the piano bar. The Royal
Promenade outside our window was arock with a 70s extravaganza. The
entertainment team and Hannah were up on the walkway dancing away in afro wigs
and the crowd were doing conga lines etc. Hannah is a union organizer but our
guess is she is grooming herself for a job on board? This could well be her
ideal vocation (vacation?).
We have sort of packed and are
vaguely ready for debarking tomorrow.
