14/12 Alone on a wide, wide sea

Wednesday 14 December            All alone on a wide wide sea

We need to check the computer to find what day it is. Without work, television or newspapers we have no idea. We just slave away on a ceaseless treadmill of meal, gym, quiz, meal, nap, gym, meal show, movie, sleep. Retirement is awful. Sorry.

Same old same old. J borrowed a Stephen Fry novel which I enjoyed.  I made the gym twice and finally felt that warm glow. We had our first glimpse of the South American mainland and even a few lights. We had opted to skip the sit-down dinner tonight but after sampling the dinner buffet we won’t do that again. The stew was cold and the dessert selection was just the leftovers from lunch and afternoon tea.  Pffft.

Boredom drove us to the classical concert, which repeated many of the numbers from the earlier shows. It was actually quite enjoyable. The violinist launched another frenzied assault on the same overture they assigned to J Strauss this time. There was cabaret on the pool deck at 11.30 but that was faaaar too hard.

The huge mirror....eeeeek!
