12/2 Return to Chile

Sunday 12 February  Back into Chile

It blew wildly all night. Luckily we were behind a couple of smallish trees that seemed to break up the main force. We hadn’t pegged the tent or the flysheet and were half expecting to lose either/both.  Up at 6 and left at 7.  Crossed back over the border after 2 or 3 hours.  No need to empty the truck for customs  . . yaaay. The border is the watershed of the mountains and immediately on the Chilean side it was greener and more fertile. There were actual flocks of sheep and even crops. Parts looked like Toodyay in winter. We soon stopped for lunch and major food shopping for next 3 nights – J is on tonight with Tab’s speciality green curry (with tuna for the veggie boys ?).

Scott struggled to get Bob into the campsite, (too many trees)  itself hard to find. The town of Caihoyque is very pretty with a lot of A line – swiss looking type homes nestled in a valley next to the Rio Simpson.

Checked the statements Steph sent – all going well (in fact a couple of withdrawals don’t seem to have registered?). All our deposits are being credited. Have to love 28 Degrees. The curry was very good – offered Tab a job at home as au paire.
