Saturday 7 January
Another early start and long day’s drive. We sat up front with the youngsters and I got to play Risk. Later we joined in Pictionary which was quite spirited and enjoyable. Everyone was passing snacks around and we were very abstemious in declining them all. We had a zero calorie Guarana drink just to cool off because it was a very hot afternoon. It took a long time finding camp and was already twilight. Tim and the boys made Spag bol which went down well, with lots of Tim’s banter. He is a classic attention seeker and keeps up a constant commentary about everything.
The afternoon was interesting because we got to watch the three girls contending for Dan’s attention. Helen spent a long time playing hangman with him, sprawled on the upstairs bed making big cow eyes at him and granting him panoramic view of her voluminous cleavage. Apparently he had tented with Tab the night before (who looks remarkably like Courtney) and he also spent time chatting and cuddling Jennie. Late in the afternoon,Tab turned up and proceeded to attack him with a pillow while he was discussing the menu booklets with Jennie. Well, he doesn’t seem to exude much affection to any of them but he allows them to recline on him. He isn’t bad looking but not in Luke’s class. Like Kramer from Seinfeld, he seems to have the mystic and powerful allure of the Kavorkian.
