2/3 Friday Calafate
We had half-arranged to meet Amanda on skype, so J settled into luxury on the terrace next to the camp office, while I ran shuttle service fetching her fried tomato on toast, tea and washing dishes, in between loo stops. Most packed tents and headed into town for wine tastings and a good look about. We had a mixed dozen empanadas, the national snack speciality. Small pasty type pastries stuffed with all sorts of things, usually beef or chicken. Ours included all measure of tasty ingredients, including tuna, olives, cheese, ham, beef, vegie bits, chicken and various bits we didn’t recognise.
Next we managed to draw money for tomorrow’s activities at Salta (check the blog tomorrow!). Finally, we had another small bucket (250gm) of ice cream, which wasn’t as good as the one we had in Baraloche.
We headed off at 2pm and passed through the spectacular Quebrada las Conchas shortly after. Arriving in Salta just after 6. The scenery was spectacular and we will just leave it to the photos. It was hard to take a bad picture today. Sorry for so many.
