Wednesday 16 At sea
We woke early and had a big gym
session. We got our passports back and were pleased to find that we had not
accrued any new stamps. The second leg of the cumulative team quiz saw us
increase our lead so we won more tshirts and visors. We handed 3 tshirts and a
bundle of goodies over to the young pilot couple, who joined us at the
cocktails for past cruisers. Then it was on to the battle of the sexes, at
which the girls reversed their previous loss. (Go Girl Power)
J was there quite early while I
attended to my numerous duties – I arrived to find her sitting chatting with
the big African Pom who did the show 2 nights ago (Philip Brown). He said it
sounded as though I had a bit of a base happening as well, so my darling
partner goes “yes but he doesn’t sing quite as well”. He wouldn’t have believed
it but she COULD have lied! Actually he has a huge deep silky smooth voice and
is a really nice fellow.
The ocean was mirror-like shortly
before dinner but it roughed up while we were eating and became quite choppy.
We are hoping we will be able to get into Venice tomorrow, unlike Cunard, which
spent all day at anchor in the fog and eventually ferried us via Trieste.
Tonight there is some sort of Southern Hemisphere pub evening. No Americans???
