7/10 Chengdu again - traffic

Friday 7th October

A late start to the day. Chatting with Duncan and a couple of young Germans who had just come down from Tibet. An Anglo-Aussie couple came along and we decided to join them in a Yangtze gorges cruise. That will fill the gap left by Tibet and give us a bit of a note to end on. A lot of information gathering with Kevin downstairs and we signed up. Strolled round a few local blocks we hadn’t seen yet. Found a local night street market where all products arrive on back of motorbike type vehicle.  Only non-stinking wet market I have ever been in.  Try the following:

You are standing at a zebra crossing and there is a green man facing you. Traffic facing you from either side is blocked by red lights. How many of the following are true?

a) Scooters, bicycles and cars should stay off the zebra crossing until the pedestrians get a red light and the traffic lights go green
b) Vehicles may enter the zebra crossing only if they give way to pedestrians
c) Pedestrians are encouraged to focus their attempts to cross the road at the site of the zebra crossing, but are fair game for any vehicles approaching from any direction, whatever the lights may show.

Only one is correct.

This is not a real boat, or maybe it is.  Sitting embedded in concrete alongside the river in Chengdu.  It is a restaurant.
