We eliminated one nagging issue and booked Rio accommodation. We will go into a 2 bed dorm in what seems like a nice hostel in a good area for 11 days then scoot down to Paraty by bus for 6 days to avoid the crowds and the $800 bill for New Year. Finally back to the tour hotel for the Group Meeting on the last night before the Great Trek starts. A fair number of them have already emailed their profiles and there seems to be a mix of Poms and Dutch, youngsters and wrinklies. Now we just have to get lucky with the buses and extend our Brazilian visa to allow us to re-enter after the tour to catch our ship to Lisbon Portugal. This little laptop is sensationally useful, despite its damn inbuilt mouse and teensy screen. And the surge protector has decided to work again. :o)
