Tuesday 27 Sept Fly to Chengdu
Smogged in and raining at both ends. Some interesting experiences with taxi drivers.
Wednesday 28 Sept Chengdu
Went shopping for sleeping bags. No down bags anywhere but we eventually bought a pair of bags rated 0c and including an air mattress. It will be interesting. Although we will not be going to Tibet or needing to get altitude acclimatisation, we decided to go ahead with the trip to the mountains. They would be the easternmost end of the Himalayas and part of the ethnic Tibetan zone. Buddhist rather than Confucian religion. It might be less crowded out there than in the cities during the national day holiday week.
We still haven’t seen the shopfront proctologist but we have seen a couple of vets performing surgery on a cat.
