31/10 Corfu - Happy Halloween

Monday 31 October           Corfu            

Settling into a pattern. Made the gym at 7.30 despite losing an hour. Stayed on for abs/bum/thighs then brekky. Laundry, photographs then 11.30 quiz. Sports manager Chris ran it and we again formed a team of 6, playing against him and bundles of vouchers he bet against us. We ended up with 9 vouchers between 2 of us.  Playing with a couple of ladies who are staying in the “1^st class” section but come down for the quiz events. Quick light lunch then off ashore at Corfu.

Bus transfer into town. Walked a big loop to old fort, round the back and then all over the new fort.

Fridge magnet, internet and back in time for 4.15 quiz. We played with the ladies and the surgeon and won. A great performance. Went up to watch the sunset as we sailed away. Very pretty. Down to dinner, feeling jaded with the time taken, the need to drop whatever else you might want to do, and the small talk. Hatching plan to swap sessions with the surgeon and then eat at the buffet whenever we choose.

Straight back to 8pm quiz. Came 2^nd with a full team and off to the Neil Diamond tribute show. Mark kindly ushered us into a private box.  Very good show. Back to the 9.45 Halloween quiz which we won as a 3some. Went to the Halloween ball for a while and then back to the 11.45 quiz which we came 2^nd again. Maybe 5 a day is too many? We doubled our score to 26 tickets today.

The whole ship has been turned into a Halloween wonderland, totally decked out. (Pardon the pun *giggles*)  Carved pumpkins a major feature with guests asked to vote for a favourite.  All staff in bars and entertainment areas dressed in fantastic costumes and themed events all day.  The ‘Monster Mash’ ball which included the dance troop putting on a terrific version of the Monster Mash.  Lots of people stayed up later than usual and really made the place buzz well into the night.  Absolutely fantastic.
