Thursday 3rd Nov.
C was up at 4am in the library trying to remember how the periodic table worked. (Even though he got the question correct.)
Not feeling well and both of us had very sore legs. Stretch at 7.30 helped somewhat and we managed to get through the spin class afterwards. 2nd by 1 point in the morning quiz. More laundry but no access to dryers so we brought it back to the cabin. After lunch rest. The Jamaican chef did pan simmered fruit in liqueur. There was also Chocolate Indulgence that was sublime.
Afternoon quiz was the best and worst yet. We got 10/10 - 2 ahead of the next team. Then had to double or nothing for the final question. OK you have a go – which team sport was removed from the Olympic games in 1920? Someone suggested cricket which was obviously wrong but there was nothing else. Then we had to sit there while most of the other teams doubled their scores and we finished with zero. The answer was tug of war.
Back to the room to prepare for yet another formal night. Washing done well but some still wet. So we draped it over the table lights bedside lights and wall lights. Had to keep checking that we did not set off the fire alarm. The stateroom steward will come in here and be confronted by what will look like an explosion in a knicker factory. He has to turn down the beds and leave our daily newspaper, programme for tomorrow, and ninite chocolates. Not sure we want to show our faces at the quiz tonight. J has an invite from the Grill Girls to go up and look at their suite. (The 1st class passengers eat in their own restaurants (Grills) and have their own lounges and deck space).
Show our faces we did and we won both early and late evening trivia.
