Tuesday 1 November At Sea
Up at 6.30 for mini brekky then stretch class and the spin class ( funded by the spa voucher). First quiz at 10 – came 3rd after overruling the yank on the capital of Illinois!. He was so hopeless a few days ago and seemed unsure as to whether it was Springfield. It seems Chicago IS in Illinois but just not the capital . . Springfield is. OOops. Would have done line dancing had it not been at the same time. J had a go and mastered it in the final few minutes. C collected passports while J moved on to the Cha Cha and the badged “spare gentlemen” whom Cunard provide to dance with the spare women.
Followed advice to try the pub lunch but today being a sea day it was PACKED. And the band was playing jazz loudly. Took forever to get served and then the fish was quite crunchy. Interesting to try Mushy Peas. Went up to buffet for supplementary snack and found that the Jamaican “Egg Man” chef had made chocolates. Real chocolates. Delicious chocolates. Aaaaaand a crockembush!!. Tried some of that – pleasant and tasty but not sensational. Nap time. (While J went to the theatre and watched Jane Eyre)
Being a sea day there were lots of people aboard all day, even so, there were still plenty of quiet areas to find a place to sit.
Tonight is the Masquerade ball. Everyone is dressed in beautiful ball gowns and quite a lot of people have masks. The ball was held in the Queens Room with a parade of masks, which I missed by one minute. I bought quite a nice one in Venice, so now get to show it off.
Lovely Janine, love your mask! It sounds like you are both having a great time...photos are great and your blog is interesting. Sounds idyllic! Take Care, Claudine xo
